Obtaining an order securing a child in the father’s care

Holly represented a father who sought a Child Arrangements Order for his child to live with him. The young child had previously lived with the Mother, but ongoing concerns about the violent relationships that she was in meant that the Father took over the child’s care. The Mother sought the return of the child to live with her.

A report was written by Social Services which supported the child remaining with the Father. Holly represented the father at the final hearing. The hearing involved Holly’s expert cross-examination skills, and, following the social worker and both parents being cross-examined, final submissions were made.

The Court ordered that the child should live with Holly’s client, and spend time with the Mother for the periods that the Father proposed.
