Kevin Jackson
I am an experienced and well-regarded barrister having practised family law for over 30 years. I specialise in child custody and contact disputes. I also specialise in injunction proceedings where there are allegations of domestic abuse or violence between couples. I am known for my ability to manage difficult and complex cases including those involving serious allegations.
I work closely with clients to ensure that there is a clear understanding of the issues in the case. I give objective advice as to what can reasonably be achieved through the court proceedings and I advise the client on a clear pathway to achieving realistic and sensible outcomes. Along the way, I explain how the court process works and what procedures need to be followed. I assist and advise on the preparation of court documents such as court bundles, position statements and statements of evidence:
“We have regularly instructed Kevin Jackson who has achieved some very good outcomes and received excellent feedback from our clients.” [A solicitor who regularly instructs Kevin Jackson in non-Direct Public Access cases]
“You have really helped me and made me feel safe with you. Your advice was always spot on and excellent.”
“Thank you so much for your help with this. You certainly had a calming and reassuring effect throughout the process. I am immensely grateful for the overall outcome, credit to you of course.” [Mrs. C a Direct Public Access client]
“I would like to say how pleased I am with the work that Mr. Kevin Jackson provided for me. Not only was Mr. Jackson efficient and helpful, he also helped me feel at ease on a very stressful day and had an extensive legal knowledge which helped provide me with a favourable outcome at court. I would recommend Mr. Jackson to anyone looking for a barrister” [Mrs. W a Direct Public Access client]
CORONAVIRUS AND ITS IMPACT ON COURT PROCEEDINGS
Due to coronavirus, the courts have had to develop safe practices. Whilst some ‘in person’ court hearings are still taking place, many court hearings are being conducted remotely either by telephone or by video. These hearings are often time-limited and there may be long adjournments between court hearings. I can advise clients on how remote proceedings operate and how to make the most effective use of these hearings to advance the case.
