Christopher Wall

I have specialised in all areas of Family Law for over 25 years, particularly covering Financial Remedy, Public Law Children Act cases and Private Law Children cases.

If you need help with a financial remedy case (ie dealing with your financial arrangements as part of your divorce) my far-reaching experience covers everything from multi-million pound cases involving complex assets structures to the particular challenges facing low-income families.

I regularly represent parents, grandparents and children in Care and Adoption, Residence and Contact Order proceedings, as well as acting in cases where one or other parent wants to take their child/ren abroad. I am particularly experienced in handling cases involving abuse or neglect and where either parents or children have disabilities.

My clients value my sensible and realistic advice, appreciating the way that I work with them to reach their desired outcome. Although I aim to reach a resolution through negotiation where possible, I also have a reputation for being a persuasive and forceful advocate in Court where required.

I am also a qualified family arbitrator.

Very experienced in matrimonial finance and public law children matters.

Divorce and Matrimonial Finance

I specialise in the whole range of family-related financial disputes, and am expert at dealing with such disputes resulting from your divorce or civil partnership dissolution. I also deal with applications for financial remedies for unmarried parents and all types of property disputes between cohabitants. My cases also include those that come under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975.

I fully recognise that financial proceedings are fraught and emotional and may encompass other issues such as mental or physical abuse, and I am skilled at representing and supporting clients in these difficult circumstances. My approach is usually to ensure that both parties are able to realise sufficient assets to enable them to afford a home, particularly where children are involved.

My experience has included a wide range of financial proceedings, and I can act for you whether you are a low-income family or have multi-million pound assets. I have experience of cases involving complex asset structures, large property portfolios, family companies, trusts, pensions and internationally held assets. If you have a complex issue involving money loaned or given by family or friends to buy a property, I would be happy to offer advice.

Public Law Children

I have considerable expertise in Public Law cases and regularly represent parents, grandparents, and children in Care and Adoption proceedings.

Many of my cases have involved either sexual and/or physical abuse, and I have also acted in numerous cases where there has been significant neglect of children’s physical, emotional or educational needs. I also have considerable experience of working with clients where parents or children have significant physical or mental health disabilities.

As my client, you can rely on my giving sensible, realistic advice. Wherever possible I aim to help you to reach a fair outcome by negotiation, but in the event that your case proceeds to a final hearing at Court I will represent you with persuasive and forceful advocacy that aims to achieve the best possible outcome for your particular circumstances.

I have frequently appeared in all tiers of the Family Court.

Private Law (Child Arrangements Programme)

I have considerable expertise in Private Law cases including Residence and Contact Order disputes, and cases where one parent wishes to take their children abroad against the wishes of the other. If you are concerned about the possibility that the other parent may take (or has taken) your child abroad or to another part of the country without your consent, I can advise and support you, and have specific experience of acting for parents in matters relating to child abduction.

I am known for the sensible, realistic advice I give to my clients. Wherever possible I will help you to reach a fair outcome by negotiation, but in the event that the matter proceeds to a final hearing at Court I will provide persuasive and forceful advocacy with the aim of achieving the best possible outcome for you.
